I also don't understand why this keeps being reporting as "Man pregnant with child" "Man gives birth to child" etc. etc. Every single news outlet, even the freakin Oprah show, reported it this way and it's insane to me!

This person still has female genitals and reproductive organs. Yes, she took hormones, had her breasts removed, and legally changed her name, but she is still a woman. Why is it so shocking to people that someone with a vagina and uterus gave birth to a baby???

Quite calling this disturbed and confused individual a man, she is not a man. She is a masculine female living in a lesbian relationship, no more, no less.

I'm glad to see all these comments and I agree with all of them. When this "article" first appeared some months ago, stating "pregnant man" I was outraged. Go ahead, phreak, have all the sex changes you want ... if you KEPT your uterus and lopped off your breasts... and got pregnant ... you are STILL a woman! You never were nor never WILL be a man!

Just as the above posters mentioned ... you were not born with, nor have, a penis. You have (obviously) a vagina and a uterus. You will NEVER be a man you will ALWAYS be a woman. As much as the phreak at work who WAS born with a penis and has had it lopped off, had breast implants, face lift, butt lift, tummy tuck and associated name change from "Christopher" to "Christina" ... will NEVER be a woman.

I am sick that this "news of the weird" story EVER made headlines. I am glad it will be buried finally now that the birth has happened. I pity the poor child born into this circus.

I feel sorry for the baby as it grows up and they start telling it how her Dad had her, poor kid is going to be messed and really need some therapy. i agree with what everyone else is basically saying. this was NOT a man having a baby. it was a female who had a sex change and not even a complete one. no one mentioned if *he* had a penis made for him via plastic surgery and whatnot. i doubt that he has. from what i've heard they use the uterus (?) to make it out of. i think the news media, and Oprah for that matter, should give full retractions and apologize to the american public for a stupid story that was based soley on sensationalism and not on science. this was a good story for the National Enquirer, right next to the story about Hillary Clinton shaking hands with an alien , lol .

I agree Demmy. I don't know why people are so scared of this - it's as if "gender" is sacred and anyone who does not self-identify in the way they "should" is evil. Hatred and ignorance is alive and well in America and this is what I find sad and immoral about our country - I can't imagine Jesus making comments like some of the above who supposedly hate and judge others on "moral" grounds. It's no wonder so many people reject spirituality when you have examples like this of what God is about.

For all of you who don't know, sex and gender are different things. Sex is what organ you are born with, gender is what gender you identify with. It is possible to be born one sex, but identify with another gender and this is why this headline (though I agree sensational as all mainstream media is) is 'accurate'.

i am happy for this family, they are finally blessed with a child. i think their child will receive more love from her parents than a lot of heterosexual families. it is not up to us to label this person how we want. we don't know what it feels like to be born into the wrong gender.

This is not about hate for the individual - SHE is confused. Its about the stupidity of the media reporting this immoral behavior in such a deceptive manner. This woman gave birth as do many women everyday. There was nothing exceptional about that. The only story here is how will the hormones taken by the mother affect the child. The media needs to be held accountable for their reckless reporting. May God have mercy on this nation and the people of God stand up for what is right.

When I first heard about about this story I thought it was a joke. It had to be. This is really sick. I agree with the posts that say this is a woman. A very confused woman at that. Look at her past. She had some really tough times and is really confused. She is not a man. A man cannot conceive a child. And for those who say this child will be treated better. It may be treated better but it will need a lot of visits to the psychiatrists. What a messed up sick family. I feel very sad for this poor child. These people are very selfish to put a child through this mess. America is becoming a joke. We have very little moral or values anymore. The "News Media" really needs to stop sensationalizing this lie. A man did not give birth to a child. The fact is this transgender was born a woman with ovaries and a uterus. This is how the transgender was able to carry a child. Call it what you want but the facts are the transgender was able to carry and bore a child because he-she still possesses female genitals. To date, there is no such thing as "A Man" having a child. A person born a woman at birth has given birth. The only confusion is the history that lies between being born and then deciding to become pregnant later to give birth. It is what it is. The rest is just the media needing a story to write. It's the same as a lesbian cutting off her breast and taking testosterone with male role-playing and later deciding to stop taking the testosterone to make use of her uterus and ovaries to have a child. I'm not confused...the media can't confused us. It is what it is. A confused woman (transgender) giving birth to a child.
